Soldiers Killing: Between Aba And Okuama

By Zik Gbemre,

There is no justification for killing of any human being. I will always condemn killings, kidnapping, robberies and every heinous crime, every offence no matter who and what is involved.

Governor Alex Otti of Abia state has proven to be a man experienced in leadership. He is a material for governance. The way he is handling the killing of soldiers in his state is evident he is committed to lead his people.

As noted by Chief Godwin Notoma, a prominent Udu Kingdom Chief in Delta state, “For the same action, killing of soldiers, Okuama was razed by soldiers foreign to the Niger Delta, but Aba is standing.

“Different governors, different ways of handling the same issue. All parties can clearly see that this (Abia) governor is in control of the situation. He is proactive. He pledged to apprehend the killers. He didn’t leave the apprehension of the killers to the soldiers to effect. He visited the families of the slain soldiers.

“Zik Gbemre and many others were spot on in their exray of the handling of the massacre of soldiers at Okuama and the genocide and scorch earth destruction of the community by the Nigerian army.”
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta and Governor Ahmed Ododo of Kogi state are the worst imposed governors in the entire country. Sheer placeholders for Ifeanyi Okowa and Yahaya Bello respectively.

Oborevwori and Ododo don’t know why they were placed by their godfathers. Oborevwori is so ignorant that he doesn’t understand leadership. He goofed on Okuama killings, destruction till date.

In Aba no place, no community was set ablaze by soldiers, unlike Okuama. In Aba no place was destroyed by soldiers. Even the Ewu IDP Camp set up by Oborevwori was executed with same myopia, without consultation with the Okuama people.

Oborevwori engaged in conflicting statements on the Okuama refugees, asking them to return to Okuama after the soldiers left having already asked Okuama displaced people to return to Ewu IDP Camp.

Oborevwori doesn’t have what it takes to be a governor. He lacks capacity for the job. Oborevwori being Delta governor is like Tinubu imposing MC Oluomo as Lagos governor.

No matter the contribution made by stakeholders, some persons cannot be considered for certain roles when it comes to partisan power sharing. Some persons just don’t have it.
