Representatives of the GCUOBA Class of 1989 have paid a courtesy visit to the Ughelli Area Commander in appreciation of his prompt intervention and selfless assistance to members of the association during a road trip to Ilaro last month.
The delegation said the visit was to formally thank the Area Commander for coming to their aid after their vehicle became stranded at a badly damaged section of the road in Edo State while they were travelling to Ilaro.
Members of the delegation led by the vice chairman, Mr Asuna Akim were, Okpako Edwin, Egbudu Sunday, Emoefe Efemena, Barrister Omovuhoyi Ebruphyiyor and Akarah Obakpororo
According to the representatives, the officer happened to be passing through the area when their vehicle was trapped. Although he had no prior knowledge of the occupants or their destination, he immediately responded after his vehicle was flagged down.
They said the Area Commander coordinated efforts that ensured the stranded vehicle was safely towed out of the difficult section of the road, allowing the group to continue their journey.
The association described his swift response, professionalism and willingness to assist strangers as a demonstration of exemplary public service and commitment to duty.
Members of the GCUOBA Class of 1989 expressed their heartfelt gratitude during the visit, noting that the commander’s actions reflected the values of compassion, leadership and service. They said the courtesy call was also aimed at formally recognising his outstanding act of kindness and dedication.
