Delta PDP Primaries: Omote Cautions Delegates Against Divisive Statement

By Michael Veloh
Ahead of the forthcoming primaries in Delta state, Prince Emmanuel Omote has cautioned delegates from Delta Central to be mindful of statements that would cause division among themselves.
He gave this advice while reacting to comments from various section of the social and conventional media publications that might cost Urhobo nation the governor in 2023.
It would be recalled that, the print media has been engulfed with series of unfortunate publications against governorship aspirants from the Urhobo extraction, particularly in Delta central.
According to Omote, “I want to passionately appeal to our political party and leaders that this is the time for all delegates to come together and channel every of our resources to a common goal of producing the governor in 2023.
“Except for few of these aspirants that from Delta South, majority of them are from central with the hope that Delta Central will produce the governor that will succeed Sen Ifeanyi Okowa in May, 2023 but my fear is, if we continue to fight with ourselves, it might not augur well for us.
“Leaders should caution their followers to stop heating up the polity because as Urhobo nation, we are one. Social media should not destroy the chances of Urhobo nation in 2023.
“Sell your aspirants, convince and state the reasons why he or she is best to govern Delta State, protect the interest of Urhobo without insult and divisive statements that could cost the PDP the ticket to an opposition party.”
