Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has facilitated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the government and people of Delta State, and the Urhobo people on the 35th anniversary of the creation of the state.
Dafinone, in a goodwill message marking the anniversary, described the milestone as an opportunity for Deltans to reflect on the journey so far and renew their commitment to peace, unity and sustainable development.
He urged residents across the state to continue to embrace one another with love, mutual respect and understanding, irrespective of ethnic, cultural and political differences.
According to him, the diversity of Delta State should be regarded as a strength capable of fostering development rather than a source of division.
The senator said, “Delta State is one big heart and one big family. Providence did not make a mistake by bringing us together as a people.”
Dafinone called on Deltans to work together, support one another and encourage healthy competition in ideas, enterprise and development, while placing the collective interest of the state above sectional considerations.
He also commended Governor Oborevwori for his leadership and urged the people of the state to remain united in the pursuit of a greater Delta.
He said the continued commitment of Deltans to peace, unity and progress would strengthen the state and create a better future for generations yet unborn.
Dafinone wished Delta State many more years of growth, prosperity and enduring unity as the state commemorates 35 years of its creation.
