2027: Olomu Wards 1, 2, Effurun-Otor Stakeholders Back Omo-Agege, Obiuvwevbi

Political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections have intensified in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State as stakeholders and supporters from Olomu Wards 1 and 2, as well as Effurun-Otor, rallied support for the governorship ambition of former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, and the National Assembly aspiration of Dr Christopher Obiuvwevbi Omininini.

The development followed a consultation tour by the political team to Ogoni-Olomu, Olomu Kingdom, Ewu Kingdom and other communities in the area.

The delegation, comprising Omo-Agege, described as the NDC governorship candidate, and Obiuvwevbi, was received by party leaders, community stakeholders and supporters during the engagements.

At Ogoni-Olomu, the President-General of Ogoni-Olomu Community and NDC chieftain, Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon, led community leaders and party supporters in welcoming the delegation.

Ogbon said the reception reflected the growing political awareness and unity among stakeholders in Olomu Kingdom.

He urged residents to participate actively in the political process and support candidates they believed had the experience, competence and commitment to advance the interests of the people.

The NDC chieftain also appealed to party members across the kingdom to remain united and give their support to the party’s candidates during the forthcoming primaries.

He stressed that grassroots participation and collective action would play a critical role in determining the political direction of the constituency and the state.

The consultation also provided an avenue for the aspirants to interact with community leaders and party members, listen to their concerns and explain their political programmes ahead of the elections.

At the various engagements, supporters from Olomu Wards 1 and 2 and Effurun-Otor expressed confidence in Omo-Agege, citing his political experience and capacity as reasons for their support.

Obiuvwevbi’s aspiration to represent the constituency at the National Assembly also attracted attention from party stakeholders, who pledged their support during the consultations.

The consultations, which attracted political leaders and grassroots supporters across the Olomu axis, were seen by participants as an important step towards strengthening the NDC’s grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 elections.

The exercise further underscored the growing competition among political parties and aspirants as they intensify consultations and mobilisation across Ughelli South.

Omo-Agege, who was accompanied by members of his political entourage, thanked the stakeholders and supporters for their reception and urged them to remain united as the party prepares for its primaries and the 2027 electoral contest.

The consultation tour is expected to continue across other communities as the NDC intensifies its grassroots mobilisation and engagement with voters ahead of the elections.
