Gun Missing, Two Injured In A Gun Duel Between Security Agents And Suspected Robbers In Delta

 

Two persons have been injured in a gun duel between security agents and suspected armed robbers as locally made gun is missing at Ekredjebor community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

 

 

It was learned that the injured victims, a vigilante member and one of the suspected armed robbers were shot during the duel at NEPA quarters in the community.

 

It would be recalled that, barely a week ago, two vigilant members were shot and their two gun stolen by the suspected armed robbers.

 

A source from the community who spoke on anonymous condition said, “Last week, suspected armed robbers attacked our vigilante members and injured Richard, currently he is receiving treatment in the hospital.

 

“They stole two locally made guns and the incident was reported at the Ofuoma Police station.

 

“Jus this week again, they returned and we have to inform the DPO of Ofuoma who mobilized his men to the scene.

 

“On getting there, the armed robbers opened fire on the team of security operatives that was led by the DPO of Ofuoma after shooting one of our vigilante members, Kingsley and went away with his gun.

 

“The police engaged about four of them and in the process, one of them that was shot escaped with bullet wounds.”

 

When contacted, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer SP Edafe Bright said, Confirmed, we are on their trail.”
