The Technical Adviser to Governor Douye Diri on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Wisdom Ikuli, has endorsed the candidature of Hon. Isreal Sunny Goli, the APC Senatorial Candidate representing Bayelsa East in the forthcoming elections.
Ikuli made the endorsement when the APC Senatorial Candidate paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
He described former House of Representatives member, Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli, as a tested leader with proven integrity to deliver effective representation, expressing confidence that he will emerge as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in a matter of weeks.
He said Sunny-Goli stood by him during his leadership of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) when many others abandoned him and recalled how Sunny-Goli supported his ambition to contest as Secretary General of the IYC.
Ikuli said Sunny-Goli means a lot to him, adding that those who betrayed the former lawmaker during his House of Representatives election have learnt bitter lessons.
Governor Diri’s Aide disclosed that Sunny-Goli’s performance in the House of Representatives stands out, alongside Hon. Preye Oseke and Hon. Oforji, stating that his support group has been mobilizing both spiritually and physically for Sunny-Goli’s victory.
“We have a conference hall where every Thursday we gather women and men to pray for him because the spiritual controls the physical. Except the Lord builds the house, the builder buildeth in vain. Every Thursday we gather people here to pray for him to say God take total control because we know that those who are fighting us are not resting,” he said.
Ikuli added that physical mobilization is ongoing across Ogbia, Nembe and Brass local government areas.
“It is like the game of football, we will not stop until they have blown the whistle because even in one minute anything can happen. This time we are not going to sleep, we are not going to rest until he is sworn in. The National Assembly is a very tough place where you can get a lot of things for your people and that’s when you know the way, and he knows the way,” he said.
Speaking during the visit, the APC Bayelsa East Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli, thanked Hon. Wisdom Ikuli for mobilizing and praying for his ambition, saying his desire to represent the district is to contribute to its growth and development.
Sunny Goli, a former member of the House of Representatives said his aspiration is driven by commitment to the development of Bayelsa East, assuring that with the support of the people, victory would be achieved and Bayelsa East would be better for it.
He promised to be the voice the people of the district have been yearning for at the federal level and thanked Ikuli for his support and urged him to sustain the momentum.
