2027: ADC Candidate Delekpe Vows To Transform Udu, Faults APC Governance

Prince Japhet Okeoghene Delekpe, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Udu Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly election, has vowed to pursue a new direction for Udu and Delta State, urging voters to make what he described as the right decision in the 2027 general elections.

Delekpe, who hails from Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, said his ambition was driven by the desire to bring meaningful change to the people and improve governance in the state.

Speaking, the ADC candidate said his  engagement has provided an opportunity to discuss his political vision, interact with stakeholders and exchange ideas on the development of Udu.

He explained that the meeting  with stakeholders was part of efforts to establish a relationship with the traditional institution and gain a better understanding of the community’s expectations.

Describing the engagements as successful, Delekpe said he and his supporters were determined to secure victory at the polls and pursue the transformation of Udu and Delta State.

“We want to win this election. We want to transform Udu. We want to make Delta State great again,” he said.

The ADC candidate urged his supporters and other eligible voters to ensure they had their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the election, stressing that participation in the electoral process was essential to determining the state’s political future.

He argued that voters needed to reconsider their choices and support leaders who, in his view, would prioritise the interests of the people.

“We are tired of making bad decisions. That is why we are here. We want to stand up and make sure that we make a good decision because we want to transform Delta State,” Delekpe said.

The candidate also criticised the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressing dissatisfaction with its governance and calling for a change in political leadership.

Describing the APC as a party that had failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians, he said the country needed leaders committed to the welfare of citizens and capable of making a difference in public office.

“The APC is a bad market, and we are tired of their governance. We want a situation where people who have Nigeria at heart can come into office and make a difference,” he said.

Delekpe called on Nigerians to participate actively in the electoral process, urging citizens to use their votes to express their expectations for better governance.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the ADC, saying the party represented the platform through which he intended to pursue his vision for Udu Constituency and contribute to the development of Delta State.

The candidate also emphasised the importance of engaging traditional rulers and community stakeholders, noting that consultations could provide political leaders with a clearer understanding of the needs and aspirations of the people.

He thanked God for the success of the town hall meeting and the visit to the traditional ruler, expressing optimism about the campaign and his party’s efforts to mobilise support across the constituency.

Delekpe urged eligible voters to obtain their voter cards and participate in the forthcoming elections, saying his objective was to secure a mandate to represent Udu Constituency and advance his development agenda.
