World Teachers’ Day: Teachers Hold Key to Nigeria’s Future, Dafinone Declares

Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has described teachers as the architects of Nigeria’s future, urging governments at all levels to prioritise their welfare, professional development and working conditions.

Dafinone, in a message to mark World Teachers’ Day, said no nation could rise above the quality of its education, stressing that teachers remained central to building responsible citizens and a prosperous society.

He said teachers went beyond imparting academic knowledge, noting that they also mould character, inspire ambition and equip young people with the values, confidence and skills required to confront the challenges of the future.

According to him, “Behind every accomplished professional, entrepreneur, public servant and leader is the influence of a teacher,” making investment in the teaching profession an investment in Nigeria’s future.

The senator called for improved working conditions, better remuneration, continuous professional development and the provision of modern teaching tools to enable teachers discharge their responsibilities effectively.

He particularly commended teachers across Delta Central who, despite difficult circumstances, continued to demonstrate resilience and commitment to educating and shaping young Nigerians.

Dafinone said: “We must therefore recognise that investing in the welfare, capacity and dignity of our teachers is not merely an investment in education; it is an investment in Nigeria’s future.”

He expressed appreciation to teachers for their sacrifices and dedication to the education of children, saying the impact of their work would continue to shape the strength, leadership and prosperity of the country.

“On behalf of my family and the people of Delta Central Senatorial District, I wish you a happy World Teachers’ Day. May the lives you shape today become the strength, leadership and prosperity of our nation tomorrow,” he said.
