As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections gather momentum in Delta State, a prominent voice from the state’s entertainment and creative industry, Quincy Uruemuesiri Tebite, popularly known as Tisio Tisio has declared his support for the re-election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Tisio, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Oborevwori on Entertainment, described his commitment to the governor’s second-term bid as a decision anchored on confidence in the administration’s leadership and development agenda.
“On Ukodo’s mandate, I anchor, courtesy of Q.U.A” Tisio declared, using the popular political expression associated with Governor Oborevwori’s mobilisation ahead of the 2027 election.
Quincy Tebite Tisio, is a gospel musician with decades of experience in the Nigerian music industry. His long involvement in the creative sector has also seen him play a prominent leadership role within the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Delta State Chapter, where he served as the immediate past “Gov’rnor” of the association.
With his background in gospel music, entertainment administration and musicians’ advocacy, Tisio has remained an influential figure within and outside Delta’s creative community.
His appointment as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Oborevwori on Entertainment has further placed him at the intersection of government and the state’s rapidly evolving entertainment and creative economy.
Speaking on the 2027 political landscape, the legendary Tisio said his support for Oborevwori was based on the need to sustain what he described as the governor’s developmental trajectory and inclusive approach to governance.
He said the entertainment and creative industry deserved sustained government attention because of its capacity to create employment, generate revenue and provide opportunities for thousands of young people.
According to him, “Delta State is blessed with enormous creative talents, including musicians, actors, comedians, producers, content creators and other professionals whose contributions can significantly strengthen the state’s economy if properly supported.
Governor Oborevwori administration had demonstrated willingness to engage with stakeholders in the creative sector and create opportunities for talents to thrive.
He therefore urged entertainers and young people across the state to take an active interest in the 2027 election, stressing that political participation should go beyond social media campaigns to responsible engagement with issues affecting the people.
The gospel musician also called for peaceful and issue-based campaigns, saying political differences should not be allowed to undermine the unity and development of Delta State.
He maintained that the 2027 election should provide an opportunity for Deltans to examine the records of political leaders and make informed choices based on competence, performance, character and capacity to deliver.
He appealed to members of the creative community to deploy their influence positively by promoting peace, unity and responsible citizenship before, during and after the elections.
As the political temperature rises ahead of 2027, Tisio’s declaration adds the voice of a veteran gospel musician, former PMAN Delta State leader and government official to the growing campaign for Governor Oborevwori’s re-election.
