The African Union (AU) has awarded the hosting right for the Pan African Music Initiative, All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), to Nigeria for another three years (2017-2019). MSF moves to curtail spread of cholera in Borno

Following the outbreak of cholera in the camps of displaced persons in Borno state, Medecins Sans Frontiers (MSF), a medical humanitarian organisation, has scaled up activities to control the disease. The MSF said it is working in with the state Ministry of Health and other organizations to curtail the spread of the disease which had already killd 23 persons. Retired Brig.-Gen. Paul Boroh, the Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, says no fewer than five million people in the Niger Delta region have benefited from the initiative since 2009. Russian MP’s son pleads guilty to cybercrimes

The son of a Russian MP has pleaded guilty in the US to being part of a $50m cybercrime racket. Roman Seleznev, 33, admitted to being part of an online criminal marketplace called Carder.su, which specialised in selling stolen credit card details and identity theft. Seleznev has already been sentenced to 27 years in prison by a federal court in Washington for breaking into US businesses to steal credit card information, which he subsequently sold on to others to commit frauds.
