Troops begin fresh drills in Korean Peninsula

U.S. and South Korean troops have begun annual drills that come after tensions rose over North Korea’s two intercontinental ballistic missile tests last month. The Ulchi Freedom Guardian drills that began Monday are largely computer-simulated war games and will run through Aug. 31. 10 sailors missing in U.S guided-missile destroyer’s accident

At least 10 sailors have been declared missing when American guided-missile destroyer, USS John S. McCain, collided with a merchant vessel on Monday. A search and rescue mission is underway, the Navy says. “The guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) was involved in a collision with the merchant vessel Alnic MC while underway east of the Straits of Malacca and Singapore,” the Navy said in a statement. Telecoms operators lament falling revenue over OTT platforms

Telecommunications operators have lamented diminishing revenue caused by the operations of Over-the-Top Platforms (OTT). The Chairman of the Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), Gbenga Adebayo, disclosed the position of the group at the weekend in Lagos. He listed the platforms as Skype, Whatsapp, Wechat, Facebook, Viber and IMO.
