Dangote still No 1 in Africa, Net worth falls $12.2b

Although, Africa’s richest man, Nigerian Aliko Dangote  dropped to 105th on the 2017 Forbe’s real-time billionaires’ ranking, he maintains the lead in Africa, as the richest man. Dangote, who was ranked 51st in 2016 with a net worth of $15.4 billion, currently has a net worth of $12.2 billion, africannews.com reports. Makarfi, PDP chief survives auto crash

Senator Ahmed Makarfi, leader of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has survived a car crash on the Abuja-Kaduna expressway. Makarfi, Chairman of the caretaker committee of PDP, survived the crash in the early hours of Friday. Senate approves $1.806b Chinese loan for rail projects

The Senate yesterday approved part of the 2016-2018 External Borrowing Plan pertaining to the Lagos, Kano railway modernisation project (Lagos-Ibadan segment double track). Many injured, six houses razed as communities clash in Delta
