Osinbajo to governors: Safeguard lives, properties

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday urged state governors must safeguard the lives and properties of all citizens residing in their states. The World’s Population Is Forecast to Reach 9.8 Billion By the Year 2050

(UNITED NATIONS) — India’s population is expected to surpass China’s in about seven years and Nigeria is projected to overtake the United States and become the third most populous country in the world shortly before 2050, a U.N. report said Wednesday. Chelsea boss resigns over Grenfell Tower tragedy

The chief executive of Kensington and Chelsea council, Nicholas Holgate has resigned from his position. This followed criticism over response to the Grenfell Tower fire disaster. World Bank approves $961m credit for FG’s ERGP

ABUJA— The World Bank has approved a total of $961 million credit in support of the Federal Government Economic Recovery and Growth Programme, ERGP, and Kaduna State Economic Transformation Programme. According to the bank, in a statement issued in Washington, yesterday, the Federal Government would receive $611 million credit to increase basic school enrolment, particularly targeting out-of-school children, who are mostly in northern Nigeria.
