STUDENTS of a public secondary had in a fight, injured two senior students of a private school located at Olori street, during a public fight in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was learned that the students of Oharisi Secondary School, a public institution, violently attacked students of Jesus is Life group of school at Olori street during school period.
According to sources, “The attackers putting on Oharisi Secondary School uniform stormed Olori street with woods, and dangerous objects to attacked the private school that is about one kilometer far their school.
“We did not know what happened between them before the fight broke out but for the Oharisi Secondary school students to storm Olori street with dangerous objects is an act of gross indiscipline.
“On Monday, students of Jesus is Life Group of School were violently attacked by a group of students from Oharisi Secondary School, leaving two students injured in what is being described as a disturbing escalation of inter-school violence.
“The incident occurred in the afternoon when the attackers, suspected to be students from Oharisi Secondary School, stormed the area armed with sticks and other objects, targeting students from Jesus is Life Group of School that were receiving lecture.
“One student sustained a severe head injury after being struck with a piece of wood, resulting in a torn scalp and heavy bleeding while another student was injured on the hand while trying to shield themselves from the blows.”

Speaking on the continued attack on her students,the Proprietress of Jesus is Life Secondary school, Mrs Onokpori Ruth said, “This morning students from Oharisi Secondary School came to attack my students while they were in their various classes receiving lectures and one of my students, Patrick Eguye was seriously injured.
“For sometime now this attack has been going on and not long ago they flogged and injured a student through the window, at times they will come from their school to be hauling stones our school
Before this incident, over two students a male and were injured, the female was injured on her head and we have to rush her to the hospital for medical attention and
“I want the government to fight for me, to go to Oharisi Secondary School and speak with the principal. If possible employ the help of security to keep the students in order.”
“The injured victims were quickly rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention, and they are currently receiving treatment. While the motive behind the attack remains unclear, staff and students believe it was a premeditated act.”
Mrs Charity Osiobe, a teacher with the private school said, “This morning as I was teaching I heard a shout from the proprietress saying, some students from Oharisi school are around and that we should arrange yourselves and step away from the windows.
“As I turned to observe through the window I saw the students with different kind of weapons before I could alert the students I found out that they had already injured a child in the other class.
“At that point the school was disturbed and it affects our learning and causing lack of composure among the students.
“This is not the first time they are attacking this school. This must not be allowed to continue. What happened today is unacceptable and must be addressed with urgency.”
When contacted, the principal of Oharisi Secondary School, Mr Freeborn Ogra said, “I am in a noisy place, please send text” and as at the time of this report this report the text message sent to his two mobile numbers were not replied.
