Rueben Abati & Rufai Oseni Media Dramas

Rueben Abati and Rufai Oseni, both Arise TV News anchors, delight in mocking selves in their media dramas. They need to be called to order.

Reuben Abati being hired by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to launder his image won’t convince Deltan people on his cutlass M & E of projects. Abati running his mouth has no reputation to be a judge of the public court opinion.

We shouldn’t forget his past when he was locked up by EFCC in their detention facility for Dasuki scandal. What audacity has Abati has to be a judge of public opinion? How many Delta communities did Abati visit to have given a pass mark to Gov Oborevwori?

The cutlass inspection aided shoddy projects littering some spots in Delta. As we speak most Deltan roads are not motorable. I live in Iwhrekan Town of Ughievwen clan in Ughelli South LGA and I drive the popular Ughievewen-Udu Road every day in so much bad shape.

The uncompleted fly over bridges in Warri, is that what Abati is talking about that most Deltans in Abuja and Lagos don’t know the development going in Delta state? Abati imaginary development of Delta is painful and not surprising.

Don’t forget he is a politician and being made relevant by Arise TV that Nigerians have forgotten his past that he was indicted by EFCC. Abati only came to collect his own share of ‘share the money ‘. Shameless Abati is telling us in Delta that development is taking place in Delta state that we don’t know of. Shame, shame, shame on Abati.

As for Gov Oborevwori he should stop wasting Delta’s money on image laundering. The money used on image laundering in Delta by Gov Oborevwori should be used to develop Delta state. We don’t need imaginary development in Delta Mr Gov.

We don’t need paper development in Delta Mr Governor. We need physical infrastructure development and not all these sycophantic media hype.

Rufai Oseni’s style of journalism is timid and archaic.

The management of Arise TV should call him to order and stop harassing his TV guests when interviewing them in the studio.

Oseni is expected to ask his guests questions and allow his TV guests to answer questions in their own ways. Rufai Oseni shouldn’t force his opinion on his TV guests. As a journalist or news man you should be neutral and professional in your role.

The confrontation between him and his TV guest, Lere Olayinka on Friday 6th June, 2025 was poorly handed by Oseni. Rufai Oseni’s raising voice on Arise TV studio on Lere Olayinka is disrespectful to the public and Arise management.

Few months ago he quarrelled with Jesutega Onokpasa on Arise TV studio. Wrong for Rufai Oseni to be quarrelling with TV guests. Is there no ground rules for Arise TV staff? Is Arise TV a banana Republic where anything goes?

A staff of Arise TV doesn’t mean they can talk carelessly and abusely to guests. Arise TV management should know they can be sued in the law courts. Their staff can’t just talk abusively and hostile to their guests just because they are TV workers.

Oseni and Abati should be called to order. They can ask questions and not to dictate opinion to their guests. If they want to be guests they should resign and appear as guests to air their opinions.

Seun Okinbaloye of Channels TV is doing a good job and he doesn’t embarrass his guests on TV shows. Abati and Oseni should be tamed by Arise TV management.

They are free to criticise government office holders and people if they step aside as staff of Arise TV and go to the TV show on individual capacity. Rufai Oseni and Reuben Abati are too arrogant.

They should be neutral in their roles in Arise TV and not to be used by politicians to fight opponents in my opinion. Whether working as a team in Arise TV or not Rufai Oseni has no right to speak for Rueben Abati, period.

Abati has turned lord of the media who can say anything bad against others but he can’t be accused of bad doings.

He uses all sorts of derogatory names on people by telling some people that they are intellectually lazy. What makes Abati think he is intellectually strong?
