PROFESSOR Patrick Muoboghare, a chieftain the of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ughelli North has described the recent mass defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and others from the party to APC as mysterious despite the governor was doing well in the PDP.
He made this know while reacting to the gale of defections that rocked the Delta State PDP in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
It would be recalled that the state Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, his predecessor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and the state executive of the PDP with all the 25 Council chairmen massively defected to the All Progressive Congress, APC.
According to him, “The recent mass defection of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and some principal officers of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) to the APC is mysterious.
“There has never been crisis in the party, but rather, it is in the APC that fractionalize in the state and I will remain in the PDP even if it takes me to be the last person.
“It is mysterious because Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has earned himself much credit with his development strategies and infrastructures across the state.
“Why is he scared of remaining in the party that brought him into power when have the executive, the legislature and even the judiciary,
“I am urging others that defected to the APC to reconsider their decision and come back to the PDP, where they will be valued and respected,  because PDP is committed to promoting unity, inclusiveness, and fairness in its political activities as it has always been.”
Prof. Muoboghare reassured that PDP is the right platform for them to achieve their political goals and aspirations if they so wish.
He urged them to take advantage of the welcoming atmosphere in the party and work together towards a better future for Delta State come 2027.
