Chief Engr. Mike Orugbo has accepted the call by the Okporua ruling house of Udu and others in the kingdom to become the traditional ruler of the Udu people after the passage of HRM E.B.O Delekpe who was the traditional ruler of Udu Kingdom in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
Engr Orugbo who is the MD/CEO O-SECUL Nigeria Ltd, a philanthropist per excellence accepted the offer at Ogbe-Udu community when the president generals of the Okporua Ruling House beacons in him to vie for the kingship position after the demise of the former King.HRM Barr Delekpe Owhorhu I.
The Okporua ruling house which comprises, Ogbe-Udu, Oghior, Ukpiovwin, Okolor-Inland and Okolor-Waterside respectively, had appealed to Engr Mike Orugbo to accept the offer as his is best fit to be the next king of Udu Kingdom.
Speaking during the event, Deacon Nigeria Okorode said, “Following the demise of the our late king the zoning of the king came to Okporua Ruling House.
“And the Okporua Ruling House that comprise Ogbe-Udu, Oghior,Ukpiovwin,Okolor-Inland and Okolor Waterside in entirety agreed that you are worthy to vie for the kingship position that has come to our ruling house.
“We are appealing for you to accept the offer and be the next King of Udu Kingdom just as it is our request that you should not reject this opportunity.”
Responding, Chief Engr Mike Orugbo said, “My people has just bestow honour on me and Okporua ruling house owns me, I never owned myself and they have searched.
“Today is not for much talk because we will may not have another gathering like this if we finish the entire discussion
“As we have gathered here, our fathers, mothers, brothers, Sisters and both families are here and if I had come to meet with you,it would not have been this way.
“You all came as Okporua ruling house and announced that what you are seeing befits me just as I befitted you, and if I do not respect you all who will I respect?
“This journey needs wisdom and we pray for God to grant us the wisdom and whatever thing that is worth doing in ensuring that the message that I am being send is perfect, should be done.
“Like I had earlier stated, I am yours and you are mine, and it is on that I accept the offer to be the next king of Udu Kingdom.”
It would be recalled in 2017, Chief Mike Orugbo built and donated an auditorium to the Ogbe-Udu branch of God’s Kingdom Mission, GKM that was dedicated by the Venerable Arch-Minister of GKM, Roland Ogene.
“With the acceptance of Engr Mike Orugbo, Okporua ruling house is set to recommend to the Udu Traditional Council, the body of Kingmakers who would ratify the nomination in accordance with the 1979 Edict before the coronation is done.
“Engr Mike Orugbo would be formally crowned and presented to the entire Udu people in a ceremony to be put together in due course, and a staff of office from the government would complete the process.”Okporua ruling house member revealed.

The ruling houses were represented as follows, Egbetamah for Orhuwhorin ruling house, Sorhue for Owhrode, Whiliki for Owhorhu, Sokoh for Ovwian, Djebah for Okporua Oyovwiraye for Adadja, Emaduku for Uloho ruling house respectively.
