Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has been commended for embarking on emergency repairs of Isodje street junction and High Court road section of the Ughelli-Olomu road in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The commendation to the governor was given after several appeals for the repair of the failed portion of the road to council chairman failed.
The Isodje street junction road is the link between Ughelli North and Ughelli South and other adjourning communities in Delta State.
Commending the Delta State Governor, Olorogun Dr Uteme Bateren, a community leader said, “Severally, we have called for the repairs of this place that is a link to Ughelli South and Udu Local Government Areas all to no avail and now that the State Government has come to our rescue,it needs my commendation.
He said, “Oteri Community appreciates Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the tarring of the death trapped Isodje street junction as we are aware that it ought to be the responsibility of the local government but because of the death of Pa EK Clark even, our Governor embarked on the rehabilitation of the Isodje street junction that link to Ughelli South and the High Court just after Clifford Cassidy Playground.
He however cautioned against self acclaimed leaders that would take the glory of the repairs, say ling self acclaimed leaders should be guided.
Also, Mr Akpomedaro Ike said,”Greetings from the once bad spot along Oteri road by Isodje junction.
“Recall, rehabilitation works took place during the week. I heard it was due to the upcoming funeral of an elder statesman.
“I saw similar interventions taking place across the town, can’t tell if they have similar funerals coming up.But in all, we are grateful for the job done. The road was a bottleneck to motorists.”
Mr Fred Erhiekevwe, a road user commended the state Governor for coming to salvage the situation at Isodje junction and giving relief.
He said, When I saw the heavy duty machines, i initially thought that it was Direct Labour Agency until I saw the company working day and night and under the rain to ensure that the road is rehabilitated.
This has shown that Governor Oborevwori is an action and listening man, his Street Credibility is never in doubt, thank you Mr Governor for hearing our cry, your second term is assured as I will mobilize my house hold for your course.
It would be recalled that before now, Keke riders in Ughelli North and South embarked on a emergency repair on the Isodje junction due to its deteriorating nature as they had to mobilize some tippers to tipped down broken blocks from buildings within Ughelli North.
