“This year Children’s Day marks a new beginning for Ughelli North and today we gather here not to only celebrate them, but to reaffirm our duty as leaders, parents, and stakeholders to nurture, protect and invest in their development.

It is significant in Ughelli North because an event like this was last celebrated over a decade ago and in reviving it, we call on parents, guardians, educators and community leaders to join us in building a safe , secure and inspiring environment for our children to strive.

Our children are very special and we must rise against all forms of child abuse, neglect and discrimination and ensure that no child is left behind.

As we celebrate the children today, we are considering embarking on a policy of no child of school age should be out of school during school hours.

“Under this administration, we are determined to place a high premium on education as we are initiating steps to enhance learning environments, promote polices and support programs that give our children the best possible start in life.

On the dilapidated pavilion at the Cassidy Playground, Egbo assured that his administration set to give the environment a befitting look before October 1,2025.
