The alleged $4,000 Kola Nut Wedge to the Nigeria Anti-corruption Agency, Economic and Financial Crimes, EFCC, could not stop the anti-corruption agency from carrying out their duties as enshrined in their ethics of job in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was learned that on the arrival of the anti-corruption agency at the Ughelli North Local Government, they were accorded VIP reception.
It was allegedly that their reception was held at office of the council chairman as some HoDs at the office were sweating under the steaming air-conditioning in the office.
As the the Niger Delta Region is known for lavish reception and entertainment, the EFCC officials were entertained and presented with $4,000 Kola Nut wedge.
A source who spoke on anonymous condition disclosed that the presentation could not stop the them (EFCC) from carrying out their legitimate duties.
Immediately after the presentation of the Kola Nut, they commenced the day activities and as a result, HoDs at the Chairman office were sweating despite the chilling air-conditioning.
One of the official from the Department of Works, name withheld fell into an emergency sickness after he he was handcuffs by the agency.
His wife was called to come and take him to the hospital for medical attention as his condition detoriates.
The officials who not conclude their investigations on Wednesday returned the next day for further investigation.
