Eruemukohwarien: A Community of Historic Significance

Eruemukohwarien, a community of over 8,900 residents in Delta State, is historically recognized as the second location in Nigeria where crude oil was discovered in 1958. Despite its contributions to national revenue for decades, the community continues to grapple with infrastructural gaps in healthcare, education, roads, and public amenities.

Early Impact and Achievements of the New Administration

Without access to PIA funds or assistance from federal, state, or local governments nor from intervention agencies such as DESOPADEC, NDDC, or the Ministry of Niger Delta Development—the administration of President General Anigboro has already recorded notable progress, including:

Strengthening security architecture

Advancing community healthcare initiatives

Rehabilitation of some internal roads

Renovation of key community offices

Construction of seven new two-bedroom apartments within the community estate

Student empowerment and support programs

Improved electricity supply across several quarters

These achievements demonstrate a leadership anchored on creativity, accountability, and service-driven governance.

A Call for Urgent Intervention: NDDC & DESOPADEC

During an Exclusive briefing with Politicsgovernace.com President General Anigboro appealed to NDDC and DESOPADEC for immediate attention to two critical infrastructural needs:

1. Rehabilitation of the 4.2km Old Ughelli–Warri–ECN Road

2. Installation of solar street lights throughout the community

These interventions are essential for improving mobility, enhancing community safety, and boosting economic activities.

Conclusion

The emergence of Godwin O. Anigboro as President General marks a renewed vision for Eruemukohwarien Community—one grounded in unity, inclusive leadership, and sustainable development.

His administration represents a fresh mandate and a reaffirmation of the people’s collective desire for meaningful progress.
