FOUR unidentified persons have been confirmed dead in a road accident involving a Toyota picnic and a stationed truck conveying cement in Ughelli North local government area of Delta state.
The accident, it was learned happened after Ekiugbo-Ughelli junction by the East/West by Hausa market as the the picnic vehicle was loaded with adulterated diesel with two occupants.
Sources revealed that, the picnic driver lost control due to excess speed at about 6:14 am on Monday (yesterday) and rammed into a stationery Dangote truck loaded with cements killing its two occupants, the driver and one other male observing his early morning prayers.

“The two vehicle burst into flame and and the deceased were burnt beyond recognition.
Another source alleged that,”The vehicle was been chased by Joint task operatives when it lost control and ran into the parked truck, causing an explosion.”
Speaking on the incident, the Ughelli Unit commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, R.S 5.24, ACC. Ikechukwu Ken Okwo said, “What happened was that a toyota picnic coming from Warri end towards Ughelli was carrying a bunkery diesel and because of the speed violation hit a parked truck and caught up in flame.
“From what we learnt four people were consumed burned beyond recognition at that point and the registration number of the particular vehicle could not be identified due to the degree of burnt while the truck was not having a registration number.
“In the morning hours, the trucked got parked and some of the occupants were having their rest whereby one of them that was picked up was praying after which the relatives from the nearby come handy and took the corpse away.
Cautioning motorists and other road users, Commander Okwo advised that people should conveying petroleum products should alway avoid excessive speed.
“They should plan their journey from point A to point B so that they will reach their destinations safely and soundly.”
