Police arrest member of killer gang in Enugu

A member of the killer gang that gunned down three persons at Ehamufu town, Isi-Uzo LGA Enugu State last weekend has been arrested by the police. The suspect, Chibuike Odo, from Mgbuji Ehamufu was nabbed following an intensive manhunt for members of the killer gang. It was gathered that Odo was arrested based on intelligence information obtained by a joint team of operatives of Enugu State Police Command. LASTMA refers 10 motorists for psychiatric test

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has referred 10 traffic offenders to a psychiatric hospital for mental assessment in the last two years. LASTMA Chief Executive Officer, Mr Chris Olakpe told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the agency still carried out full mental assessment on erring motorists in the metropolis. The Nigerian Army on Friday said soldiers would be on standby to forestall possible violence in Saturday’s council elections in Rivers. Col. Lagos: Ambode clears N37.54bn pension arrears

The Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) said Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, has paid a total of N37, 546 billion to pensioners since 2015. According to a statement signed by the Director-General of LASPEC, Mrs Folashade Onanuga, on Sunday in Lagos, the figure represented the total pension paid to 9,045 retirees of the state. Delta Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has kicked off a 3,000-hectare oil palm plantation owned by Norsworthy Farms and Allied Industries, as a major investment that would boost the state’s economy.
