The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor and the Isoko Development Union (IDU) under the leadership of High Chief Amadhe Iduh has stepped in to resolve the crisis in Oyede community in lsoko north local government area of Delta State.

A source who spoke on the ground of anonymity disclosed that the crisis started when His Royal Majesty (HRM) the Odiologbo of Oyede Kingdom, Joseph Emasibeta Idiareh who was officially installed on the 17th of February, 2017 decided to replace Mr. Ighodue Idiareh, who has been his representative. It was alleged that the monarch has not been comfortable with Mr. Ighoadue Idiareh whom he alleged of misrepresentation.

The source further stated that Mr. Ighoadue Idiareh became apprehensive when the monarch finally announced during a town hall meeting, that one of his sons is to act in his stead as old age demands in Oyede tradition and custom but this development however infuriated Mr. Ighoadue Idiareh who petitioned the three founding families of Oyede kingdom ( Athuaro, Okro, Ekoye) to zone 5 in Benin City.

It was added that the President general of Isoko Development Union (IDU) High Chief Iduh Amadhe had to convey an emergency meeting with representatives from the three founding families at the Union’s Secretariat after an attack was lunched at the monarch during another meeting by some persons suspected to be loyalists to Mr. Ighoadue Idiareh,

They alleged that the meeting was illegal and were out to unleash mayhem but they were resisted by police men from Ozoro police command, sent by the chairman of lsoko north local government area, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor while other violent and rampaging youths were curtailed by a combine team of the Nigeria army.

While speaking, High Chief Amadhe Iduh who was contacted over the incident, commended the Isoko north chairman, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor, the Nigeria army, State Security Service, prominent sons of the community and other stake holders for their immediate response in restoring peace to the community adding that if not for their timely intervention, the situation would have degenerated to a more serious crisis.

He warned those disgruntled elements supporting the illegality in the community to rescind their nefarious attitude or prepared to face the wrath of the union and the law enforcement agents affirming that the Odiologbo of Oyede community, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Joseph Emasibeta Idiareh was installed on the 17th of February, 2017 by His Excellency, the governor of Delta state, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who was ably represented by the Deputy governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro.
