Development Of Ijaw Ethnic Nationality, My Top Priority- Bebenimbo

The newly sworn-in Commissioner representing Ijaw Ethnic Nationality in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC Dr. Paul Bebenimibo has said the development of Ijaw ethnic nationality remains his top priority as he assume office.

Dr. Bebenimibo made this assertion in an interview with newsmen shortly after being sworn-in with other members of DESOPADEC Board in Asaba.

“Ijaw as an Oil Producing nation is lacking behind in terms of infrastructural development and I will ensure that I give Ijaw people in the various Ijaw Oil Producing Communities a better representation in the Board.”

Appreciating God for the opportunity to serve Dr. Bebenimibo assured to run all inclusive government, stressing that, he will seek the opinions of the people in Ijaw communities before executing any projects and not just imposing any project which has no benefits to them.

“I will make sure we plan with them to execute programmes that will improve their lives and pull them out of poverty that we find ourselves in Ijaw Oil Producing Communities.”

“I believe am going to deliver according to the policy of Delta State and work with the governor in line with his programmes.”

Dr. Bebenimibo also promised to give education in Ijaw Oil Producing Communities a top priority just as he said he will provide the needed infrastructures that will encourage learning and teaching in the areas.
