APC Has Made Nigeria World Poverty Capital – Utuama

By Sunday Apah, Ughelli

Immediate Past Deputy Governor of Delta State, Prof. Amos Agbe Utuama and Chairman, Ughelli South Local Government Area campaign council has stated that the All Progressives Congress, APC, led Federal Government has made Nigeria the capital of poverty in the world.

Utuama who made this known during a Special Thanksgiving Mass organized for the PDP Campaign Committee to kick-start its campaign in Ughelli South Local Government Area at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Otu-Jeremi, said the only thing needed to correct the ills is to vote out the APC come February 16 and March 2, 2019.

In his address during the Holy Mass, said; “your coming to this Special Thanksgiving Mass to kick-start the PDP campaigns in the Local Government Area is an indication that you have all agreed to vote for the PDP in the forthcoming general elections.

“There is no doubt that things have changed since the APC took over government at the centre in 2015. Hunger, killings, kidnappings, hike in prices of food stuffs and others have become the order of the day. Our farmers can no longer go to their farms for fear of been killed by marauding herdsmen.

“According to recent statistics, Nigeria is now the capital of poverty in the world. I use this opportunity to advise all of you to mobilize your friends and family members to collect their PVCs and vote for all PDP candidates; Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for President, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for Governor, Delta state, Hon. Evelyn Oboro for Senate, Delta Central, Hon. Samuel Mariere for House of Representatives, Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Udu Federal Constituency and Hon. Reuben Izeze, for DTHA, Ughelli South Constituency for a better Nigeria.

Earlier, Very Reverend Fr. Christopher Ekabor during the homily said the Catholic Church endorsed all Christians to be involved in politics, he commended the PDP Campaign Committee to kick-start its campaign in the house of God.

He said: “I know Ughelli South is purely for PDP but you people must carry along all those that will work for the victory in your development plans”.
